Objective

The Warehouse Operations Assistant plays a vital role in supporting daily warehouse operations. This position is responsible for a wide range of tasks, including shipping and receiving, inventory organization, tool room management, loading/unloading trucks, and making deliveries to job sites or vendors. The ideal candidate is flexible, reliable, safety-focused, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Lead staff working with loading outgoing fleet and assist with unloading incoming freight in a safe manner

  • Operate warehouse equipment (forklift, floor cleaner, pallet jacks, etc.) to safely transport weighted items

  • Receive, inspect, and process incoming materials, tools, and equipment.

  • Package, stage, and ship outgoing items accurately and on time.

  • Organize and maintain inventory in the tool room and general warehouse.

  • Issue and track tools and equipment checked out by field personnel.

  • Load and unload materials from delivery trucks using forklifts or other equipment.

  • Perform scheduled and on-demand deliveries and pickups using company vehicles.

  • Keep warehouse, tool room, and loading areas clean, organized, and safe.

  • Assist with inventory cycle counts and reconciliation.

  • Support other departments as needed with material handling or job prep.

  • Follow all company safety policies and procedures.

  • Assist with cleaning the warehouse common areas

  • Assist order preparation by pulling from stock to meet delivery requirements

  • Assist with material, supply, and tool inventories to verify stock and identify losses

  • Perform other duties as assigned

Work Environment Considerations

  • Significant lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling; some climbing and balancing; frequent stooping, kneeling, and crouching in varying temperatures

  • Must be familiar with industry safety requirements and prepared to wear a hard hat, steel-toed work boots, gloves, and safety glasses

  • May involve local driving and occasional overtime depending on operational needs.

Qualifications and Education Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record, Class A license preferred

  • Forklift Operator’s Certificate preferred

  • Previous experience in a warehouse, tool room, or logistics role preferred.

  • Ability to lift 50+ lbs and perform physical labor in varying conditions.
