Objective
The Principal Accountant contributes to a variety of accounting tasks across the Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable departments as directed by the Accounting Manager.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Perform/review balance sheet reconciliations on a timely basis each month
Process monthly recurring journal entries
Resolve disputed and/or past due AP accounts
File monthly sales and use tax payments for multiple states
Assist other departments with sales and use tax setup
Work with tax accountants on 842 lease accounting
Maintain fixed assets within BNA fixed asset software
Perform monthly fixed asset depreciation entries
Review lien waivers for customer payments
Stay current with all business registrations as well as all contractor licenses
Assist in researching all requirements for contractor licenses in new locations
Uphold company values by keeping information confidential

Qualifications and Education Requirements
4 years construction accounting experience required
Bachelor’s Degree and sales/use tax experience preferred
