Principal Accountant

Objective

The Principal Accountant contributes to a variety of accounting tasks across the Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable departments as directed by the Accounting Manager.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Perform/review balance sheet reconciliations on a timely basis each month

  • Process monthly recurring journal entries

  • Resolve disputed and/or past due AP accounts

  • File monthly sales and use tax payments for multiple states

  • Assist other departments with sales and use tax setup

  • Work with tax accountants on 842 lease accounting

  • Maintain fixed assets within BNA fixed asset software

  • Perform monthly fixed asset depreciation entries

  • Review lien waivers for customer payments

  • Stay current with all business registrations as well as all contractor licenses

  • Assist in researching all requirements for contractor licenses in new locations

  • Uphold company values by keeping information confidential

  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications and Education Requirements

  • 4 years construction accounting experience required

  • Bachelor’s Degree and sales/use tax experience preferred
