Role and Responsibilities

The IT Specialist is responsible for analyzing, testing, troubleshooting, evaluating existing network systems, and general end user support. The IT Specialist will assist in performing network maintenance and extended set ups to ensure company networks operate correctly with minimal interruption.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Configure WAN or LAN routers or related equipment at multiple locations

  • Configure security settings or access permissions for groups and individuals and remove access as needed

  • Set up new equipment for employees and do basic training as needed

  • Software installation and updates to servers and end user PCs

  • Analyze and report computer network security breaches or attempted breaches

  • Identify the causes of networking problems and provide resolutions

  • Maintain and update documentation on all network and company resources

  • Troubleshoot network or connectivity problems for users

  • Support desk phones, cell phones, iPads, building access, and security camera access

  • Provide support in any other IT related issues to all employees


Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Strong knowledge of WAN/LAN, VPN and IPv4

  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft tenant and Active Directory

  • Strong knowledge of Exchange, Entra, Intune and Windows Defender

  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office 365, Teams and SharePoint

  • Proficient with Microsoft and Linux operating systems

  • Strong knowledge of computer security and protection processes and best practices

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills


Work Environment

  • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time

  • Ability to carry 50+ lbs

  • Responsible for physical cleanup in secure locations

  • Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of the position.

  • Some evening and overnights will be required

  • Reliable transportation and no slip steel toe boots required for occasional travel to jobsites

 

Qualifications and Education Requirements

  • Associate degree required; bachelor’s degree preferred

  • Minimum 5 Years of computer and infrastructure support experience
