Objective
The Project Management Intern supports the management of all activities related to assigned projects. The intern ensures that projects are completed effectively within cost, schedule, quality and safety parameters.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Gain knowledge of how to read and comprehend project plans and specifications
Gain experience with the buyout process to ensure that items are procured within project timelines
Understand how to execute contract changes, subcontracts, purchase orders, and change orders
Gain knowledge on tracking, forecasting, and reporting labor hours and material costs
Gain knowledge of general conditions, work scope, and specifications of project contracts/subcontracts
Support PM to maintain and control documents regarding policies and contractual compliance
Collaborate with field labor supervision to plan, organize, and schedule project work, including the preparation of contract-integrated project schedules
Collaborate with the design team on design-build projects
Collaborate with fabrication team and learn methods of utilizing fabrication shop
Review vendor/subcontractor invoices
Assist PM in completing an accurate WIP each month
Perform other duties as assigned

Advanced computer skills, including MS Word, Excel
Effective written and verbal communication skills, both professional and interpersonal

Advanced critical thinking and problem-solving skills, in addition to strong math and science skills
Work Environment Considerations
Must be able to work in high pressure situations facing strict deadlines
Must be familiar with job site safety requirements and be prepared to wear a hard hat, work boots and goggles at potentially hazardous job sites. OSHA 10 preferred
Work on construction sites will typically have more challenging access and terrain

Qualifications and Education Requirements
Obtaining an education to achieve a Construction Management or Construction, Mechanical, Civil, or General Engineering degree preferred and/or completion of a qualified Mechanical apprenticeship program
