Duties and Responsibilities

  • Willing and capable to perform estimates and/or coordinate with pre-construction/estimating team.

  • Review job estimates and prepare project budgets

  • Responsible for the coordination and execution of submittals

  • Estimate and negotiate change orders

  • Negotiate prices or terms of sales

  • Maintain customer records

  • Expedite and track deliveries of major equipment/materials

  • Establish means and methods to achieve project profit, quality, and schedule goals for each project

  • Complete project turnover meetings

  • Ensure the monthly owner billings are completed. Billings must reflect contract terms and be submitted and collected on a timely basis

BIM Technician

Job Type:  Full Time

 

Role and Responsibilities
BIM Technicians use hardware and software technology to provide support from preconstruction to final completion of a project. This group maintains all documents to ensure that the project is completed effectively within cost, schedule, and quality parameters.
 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Prepare plans, layouts, assembly drawings, and details for plumbing/mechanical building design using BIM content standards and procedures

  • Prepare and maintain fabrication drawing packages to ensure accuracy and consistency with company standards

  • Prepare total station files to be used for field layout

  • Assist in modeling content for pre-construction

  • Assist with the job setup of a new project

  • Assist with the printing, plotting, copying, and filing of documents for record

  • Assist with a wide range of other detailing tasks

 

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Working knowledge of Basic AutoCAD

  • Autodesk Fabrication CADMep, Naviswoks Manage, and Revit are a plus

Mechanical Project Manager

Modern Companies is looking to add a Mechanical Project Manager to our growing team! We offer flexible hours, great benefits, and a supportive environment!

A Project Manager supports the management of all activities related to assigned projects. The position carries the responsibility to ensure that the project is completed effectively within cost, schedule, quality and safety parameters.

  • Lead projects

  • Define and manage project scope, timeline, budget, manpower, risks and profitability

  • Lead project team by identifying roles and responsibilities and driving accountability

  • Deliver consistent communication to project team and external customers

  • Visit project sites on a scheduled, recurring basis

  • Ensure foreman and crew have resources needed to successfully perform the work

  • Manage project data, financials, and documentation

  • Partner with the Project Coordinator to accurately and effectively manage data, financials, and documentation

  • Build customer relationships

  • Understand currently assigned customers and project pipeline

  • Engage in regular interactions with customers and bring customers to Modern Piping throughout the year

Role and Responsibilities
A construction estimator uses expertise learned from working in the industry, along with construction plans, to estimate necessary expenditures and devise a budget for a variety of different construction projects.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Prepares bids and cost estimates that address every part of a mechanical project.

  • Help keep mechanical projects within the client’s budget limitations. (Value Engineering)

  • Confirm all cost estimates submitted by our company are accurate.

  • Examines mechanical systems that are in poor condition to determine the costs of repairs.

  • Works with others to estimate the types and amounts of materials needed to complete the construction job.

  • Organize, compile and compare equipment quotes for estimates.

  • Organize, compile and compare subcontractor quotes for estimates.

  • Maintains constant contact with project managers to estimate the duration of a project.

  • Estimates costs of inclement weather and unforeseen events.

  • Consults with experts to get advice on difficult cost estimations.

  • Estimate labor costs for a project, including travel and subsistence pay, if applicable.

  • Evaluates the cost effectiveness of a product’s use and makes changes where necessary to improve overall cost effectiveness. (Value Engineering)

  • Develops complete budgets and plans for projects.

  • Re-figures cost estimates when necessary.

  • Submits customized reports to clients.

  • Offers advice to others as to whether or not it’s cost effective to try different materials or products.

A Driver is responsible for staying on the approved driving list and to ensure loads are delivered safely and efficiently.

Role and Responsibilities
Compressed Air Technicians are responsible for all aspects of air compressor and air compressor products. Responsibilities include understanding several models of air compressor and air compressor products for installation, troubleshooting service/maintenance opportunities.  Compressed Air Technicians work in the field directly with our customers and must maintain a neat and professional appearance, be well-spoken, enthusiastic, resourceful and professional.

  • Must be able to demonstrate a strong mechanical aptitude.  Able to identify electrical services.

  • Must be able to complete tasks in a timely, self-directed manner.
