MODERN COMPRESSED AIR, LLC.

Top

Compressed air is commonly known as the fourth utility alongside electricity, natural gas, and water. One will find air compressors, vacuums, and drying equipment in any mechanical room, which is why Modern Compressed Air is a natural fit for our family of affiliated companies. Our logo may be new, but our General Manager has over 30 years of experience in the compressed air industry.

COMPRESSORS

Reciprocating Air Compressor

Reciprocating compressors are relatively low-speed devices that are belt-driven by an electric motor, either with or without a variable speed drive controller. Reciprocating compressors present a lower cost option than their rotary screw counterparts, making them an excellent choice for higher pressure applications at a relatively lower price.

Champion Lubricated Air Compressors range from 1/2 to 30 horsepower, are splash or pressure lubricated, and have singe/two-stage compressors.

Champion Oil-Free Compressors range from 3/4 horsepower to 15 horsepower and are base-mounted, tank-mounted, or duplex packages in single or two-stage.

Rotary Screw Air Compressor

The rotary screw compressor is designed for low-pressure applications with inlet pressures ranging from 100 psig (vacuum) up to 350 psig (discharge). Screw compressors are commonly used in a variety of air, process gas, process refrigeration, and natural gas applications.  Screws provide a much wider operating range and lower maintenance costs than conventional reciprocating machines. The machines are also smaller and quieter, vibrating less than their piston counterparts.

AIR TREATMENT

Air dryers remove corrosive water vapor from compressed air or pneumatic systems, lowering the dew point, or the temperature at which air must be cooled before condensation occurs.

Moisture in a compressed air system consumes more air and increases energy usage. The damages caused by moisture require component repair or replacement, which will negatively impact a plant’s productivity and bottom line. Over time, the savings accrued by installing air dryers to pneumatic systems will more than cover the investment.

Air Dryer Types

These air dryers use a chemical desiccant that absorbs water vapor or condensation.

Deliquescent

These air dryers remove water vapor by absorbing it on the surface of a microscopically porous surface composed of silica gel or other material.

Regenerative
Desiccant

These air dryers condense moisture from compressed air by cooling and collecting it.

Refrigeration

These air dryers remove water vapor by allowing it to pass through a membrane when there is a differential in moisture on either side of the membrane.

COMPRESSED AIR PIPING

Modern Compressed Air installs compressed air piping that maximizes your systems’ effectiveness. Our installers and servicemen have unrivaled industry experience with installing systems quickly and ensuring smooth operations into the future.

Traditional materials for air compressor piping systems usually include stainless steel, copper, black iron, and galvanized steel. Recently, aluminum piping systems have proven to be a better option. Unlike steel, aluminum is not susceptible to corrosion and typically outperforms copper as well. It is also cheaper and easier to install and does not require threading to join the individual pipes.

Modern Compressed Air is the regional distributor of AIR COM piping systems, with stocking locations throughout the Midwest. AIR COM offers a cost-effective, innovative, and energy-efficient aluminum compressed air piping system that is easy to assemble, change, and expand.

In addition to piping system maintenance and installation, Modern Compressed Air also has a large inventory of both fluid power and air preparation products in stock, such as air filters, regulators and lubricators, hose reels, fittings and tubing, and air compressors/dryers. Modern Compressed Air is truly a one-stop shop for air preparation needs and provides the entire compressed air line from start to finish.
